A comment is like a text message, easily misinterpreted when you? don’t know the spirit (or tone) in which it was intended. My comments are not intended to be negative or divisive and difference of opinion does not mean we must be enemies. We can still be friendly and disagree.

crazystuff2011 January 13, 2012 at 4:38 am

@anamneses28
I didn’t think the comment you made was disrespectful in anyway! Yes, of course we are all sharing and learning.. I am only a 2.5 year hair naturalist and I? am searching regularly for tips and new safer methods of care. Thanks for your response to my comment.

@anamneses28 – I see you are a YouTube bully… please do not reply to me again. Idiot.?

@anamneses28 I, like many people, clicked on this video hoping to find a good example of the tension method and results. It doesn’t matter how long you go without heat or what products you use at the end of the day. Look at Taren916 (who I REALLY admire for many reasons) She used the TOP products/tools vs DannieBeeLoved who? maintains straightened and healthy hair (she gives a good example of the tension method). I learned from all 3. The point is to help each other… respectfully.

@anamneses28 I understand your view and agree being gentle with your hair should be? top priority always but your statements sound like you’re the final word in what is the right way to do your hair. Just like there are tons of different textures and curl patterns there’s tons of different methods that work for others and don’t work for some.

anamneses28 January 13, 2012 at 6:48 am

@NaturallySloan? Exactly.

anamneses28 January 13, 2012 at 7:08 am

@kenasipoy I believe? that we are all learning and we can all improve on our processes. We shouldn’t be afraid to hear what others’ opinions might be in that regard since we could be shunning good advice. At certain points in the video the process was done correctly but certainly not in the beginning and too frequently throughout. Products we use to manage our hair may vary from person to person but gentle hair care should be the same. That works for all of us.

@crazystuff2011 Unfortunately, you misread what I said. Your reference is to the flat iron – my reference? was to the blow dryer and if you listen at about 2:56 you will hear what my reference was in regard to. Hopefully, she did not post the video just for praise alone and I don’t believe I was disrespectful. If you can improve your technique why not? Isn’t that the reason most us are watching these videos? To improve ours. No one knows it all – the sharing goes both ways.

anamneses28 January 13, 2012 at 8:28 am

@MistahJai I didn’t make any mention? of “detangling” – I’m well aware that it must be detangled from the end to the root – at the point of straightening detangling should already be done. However, no one straightens from end to root so I’m sorry but your statement doesn’t apply. “Follow” and “Detangle” are two totally different concepts. When straightening with tension you follow the comb/brush/tool from the root to the end of the hair. I hope that clears up your misunderstanding.

MistahJai January 13, 2012 at 9:11 am

@anamneses28 – I think any idiot knows you don’t detangle hair, ESPECIALLY natural hair from ROOT to END!!! That will clump the hair and knot it up! You detangle from END to ROOT and that’s exactly what she? did in the video, the CORRECT way!

pinkkpistol January 13, 2012 at 9:16 am

CurlyMonkey89 January 13, 2012 at 10:38 am

ilovemysunshine09 January 13, 2012 at 12:28 pm

birgitta893 January 13, 2012 at 1:10 pm

Did you transition? to natural or have you had natural hair all along ? because your hair is gorgeous

milinash January 13, 2012 at 1:29 pm

this was night and? neat.

LovlyDarkBeauty January 13, 2012 at 1:58 pm

work on? blowing your hair out

0franklin1 January 13, 2012 at 2:38 pm

@cajaam just because she went some months without heat doesn’t mean her hair is healthy……she still could have heat damage from the sun and previous times she has done this to her hair. as for her technique yea I think she is causing even more damage because of the? fact that she has the blow dryer on high which is right but she is just being a bit to rough

MizzBRITE January 13, 2012 at 2:44 pm

great job? hunny !!!!

MusicLover44477 January 13, 2012 at 3:41 pm

Wow? ur hair is actually really longg …….wow

crazystuff2011 January 13, 2012 at 3:57 pm

I see that you did a fantastic job in preparation? before straightening your hair..no heat for several months, deep conditoning and coating with protectants..Awesome, looks healthy and moist! ahhhh…anamnesses28?? if you listen to the narration of her video she cleary states that the flat iron was not on highest heat..having it on high was ok!! and she didn’t blow dry for a long period of time..as far as practicing the technique looks like she got down pretty well…;-))

deLISHtvxo January 13, 2012 at 4:13 pm

@lipstickloveaffair thanks, love! i been tryna fight the urge to straighten myself. been getting bored w my hair? haha. i think i might do it in december!

lipstickloveaffair January 13, 2012 at 4:22 pm

I know this is old but I am just now watching. Turned out beautiful. You are making me want to straighten but I am trying? to hold off until 2012!

0franklin1 January 13, 2012 at 4:55 pm

@J4L4N for your type of hair it would be much easier and u? would get a better result if you either use the comb attachment for the blowdryer or you need to go from root-end…..not trien to be rude but it think yo need to use the comb attachment then you wont havta use both hand you could probably use 5 or 6 sections so it doesnt take as long and it will be easier
